Broadway Veterinary Hospital is downtown Durham’s first animal hospital! Located within the Central Park district of downtown Durham, we opened in December 2013. We are a full-service animal hospital providing veterinary care to the surrounding Durham community.
Our veterinarian is Dr. Amber Meade, and she is able to operate the animal hospital due to her dedicated support staff. Our mission at Broadway Veterinary Hospital (BVH) is to provide excellent veterinary care to your pet, excellent service to you, and to create a work environment in which every team member contributes and is respected.
In short, BVH is an animal hospital with a dedicated veterinarian and staff committed to creating a positive experience for both you and your pet! Broadway Veterinary Hospital is accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) which means we have taken the time to create protocols that are above and beyond minimal requirements for a veterinary hospital to operate. At BVH we only offer veterinary services so that we can fully focus on providing your pet with the best possible care. If you need a referral for grooming or boarding, please let us know.
BVH is located in downtown Durham surrounded by wonderful neighborhoods, businesses, and parks that allow you to work, live, and play all within a short commute. This animal hospital hopes to be a part of this vibrant community for many years to come. We are ready to care for your four-legged family member to give them the healthiest life possible. Going to the veterinarian should be a positive experience!

Understanding your pet’s quality of life becomes especially important when they are facing major medical issues or nearing the end of their life. We are here to discuss this with you, but you can also find a helpful assessment tool here: Quality of Life Assessment.
Broadway Veterinary Hospital is committed to providing quality care for you and your pet. As part of our commitment, we voluntarily hold ourselves to the high standards set out by the American Animal Hospital Association. Holding to these standards has made us an AAHA Accredited Animal Hospital – a title that only 12% of animal hospitals in the United States and Canada can claim.
Attaining this accreditation is done by careful and thorough review of every facet of our practice – service to you, care for your pet, maintenance of the facility, and ongoing education of our staff. It takes our entire team – not just the veterinarian – to maintain this gold standard of care, and we know that you will see evidence of this effort when you bring your pet in for a visit.
